Congratulations and thank you for deciding to become a volunteer. You will be doing some amazing work but before that happens there are a number of steps that must be accomplished. I wish that I could say that this will be an easy path, but there will be several steps that need to be completed before you can begin to minister to those inside one of the four penal facilities that are located in our area.
If you have a preference as to facilities please contact us at 484-797-3869. There are three different applications that can be completed. The State uses one, the County another and Federal system still another.
Step One
You will first need to complete the Yokefellowship Prison Ministry application. This will give us a way to better understand you and the challenges that might be faced when it comes time to complete the State Department of Corrections applications. Yes, I said applications because you will first complete the authorization to perform a background check and that will be followed by the facilities individual application.
Step Two
This step can be accomplished at the same time that you are completing Step One. This is the submission of a DOC form that gives them approval to run a background checks. These form can be completed using a PDF text editor. Once completed they should be email to Cliff Balson at c.adrian.balson@gmail.com.
